Barack Obama said to Joe the Plumber that he wanted to "spread the
wealth around". Most people assume that Obama meant that he wanted to
spread Joe's wealth around.
While technically true, that misses the point entirely.
You see, it all depends on the meaning of the word "the". The
O-mighty didn't say he was going to spread Joe's wealth. He said that
he was going to spread "the" wealth. In Good King Barack's world, "the"
wealth doesn't even belong to Joe in the first place. The fruits of
Joe's labors be damned. Whoever says that the O-messiah merely wants to
spread Joe's wealth around is merely praising Him with faint damnation.
What is "the" wealth? It's the People's Wealth, and the Peoples' Wealth belongs to the State.
When people like Joe work hard, "the" wealth produced does not belong
to them. It belongs to the People as administered by the State. Good
King Barack, peace be upon Him, will have the awesome responsibility to
ensure that greedy people like Joe (who actually work to produce "the"
wealth) do not unfairly take more than their fair share of "the"
wealth. Remember:
"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a
day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks' greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere…That's the world! On which hope sits!"
-- Barack Obama from "The Audacity of Hope"
But, please, whatever you do, don't call Him a Marxist or a Communist. That would make you a racist.
