Spreading Joe's wealth

Barack Obama said to Joe the Plumber that he wanted to "spread the wealth around". Most people assume that Obama meant that he wanted to spread Joe's wealth around. While technically true, that misses the point entirely.

You see, it all depends on the meaning of the word "the". The O-mighty didn't say he was going to spread Joe's wealth. He said that he was going to spread "the" wealth. In Good King Barack's world, "the" wealth doesn't even belong to Joe in the first place. The fruits of Joe's labors be damned. Whoever says that the O-messiah merely wants to spread Joe's wealth around is merely praising Him with faint damnation.

What is "the" wealth? It's the People's Wealth, and the Peoples' Wealth belongs to the State.

When people like Joe work hard, "the" wealth produced does not belong to them. It belongs to the People as administered by the State. Good King Barack, peace be upon Him, will have the awesome responsibility to ensure that greedy people like Joe (who actually work to produce "the" wealth) do not unfairly take more than their fair share of "the" wealth. Remember:

"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks' greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere…That's the world! On which hope sits!"

-- Barack Obama from "The Audacity of Hope"

But, please, whatever you do, don't call Him a Marxist or a Communist. That would make you a racist.

ACORN Nevada Office Raided

The Nevada office of ACORN had planned a potluck dinner at its Las Vegas office Tuesday night to celebrate the 80,000 newly registered voters its staff had signed up in Clark County as part of its work with low-income communities nationwide.

Instead, their office was raided Tuesday morning by agents of the Nevada Secretary of State and Attorney General who alleged in an application for a search warrant that ACORN had hired 59 felons through a work release program as canvassers and submitted nearly 300 apparently fraudulent voter registration cards as part of the drive.

The submitted voter cards included addresses and names that do not exist in Nevada, duplicate registrations, names culled from telephone books and names of Dallas Cowboys players, an investigator for the Secretary of State alleged in his affidavit for a search warrant.

One ex-employee of ACORN reached by the state investigator told him she began making up names for her forms on days when it was too hot to work outside. ACORN canvassers are paid by the hour. Ex-employees also said they were expected to collect 20 complete forms a shift or risk probation and termination, the investigator said in his affidavit.

The search drove ACORN and its critics to exchange charges of political maneuvering in a battleground state that voted Republican in the 2004 presidential election but is considered in play for November. Mail-in voter registration closed Saturday in Nevada.

Agents removed 20 boxes of documents and eight computer hard drives from the ACORN office in "an ongoing investigation," said Secretary of State Ross Miller, a Democrat. "Now we begin the task of sifting through the material that was seized to determine how widespread any fraud might be."

Imagine how bad it must be if the Democratic Secretary of State feels the need to investigate. Here's the punchline...

The McCain and Obama camps have been trading blasts and Internet alerts over Republican charges that ACORN has been closely linked to Barack Obama for years, a contention the Obama campaign denies.

Obama not closely linked to ACORN? It's hard to tell where Barack ends and ACORN begins. Why do you think Jesse Jackson wanted to cut off his "nuts"? It's not like he didn't represent them when he was an attorney in Chicago or anything...

No wonder Obama has no sense of humor. Who can be jovial when their pants are constantly on fire?

OMG *RACISM* IS EVERYWHERE!!!

From the U.S. of  KKK-A.:

In recent days, as polls have shown a steady lead for the Democratic ticket, Mr. McCain and Ms. Palin have used reports of Mr. Obama’s loose association with Bill Ayers, a former member of the ’60s radical group the Weather Underground, as evidence that he is different from them.

“Our opponent,” Ms. Palin told donors in Englewood, Colo., “is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”

She added, “This is not a man who sees America like you and I see America,” she said. “We see America as a force of good in this world. We see an America of exceptionalism.”

Can you smell the racism?!? Can't we all just get along???

“They are trying to throw out these codes,” said Representative Gregory Meeks, a Democrat from New York.

“He’s ‘not one of us?’” Mr. Meeks said, referring to a comment Sarah Palin made at a campaign rally on Oct. 6 in Florida. “That’s racial. That’s fear. They know they can’t win on the issues, so the last resort they have is race and fear.”

“Racism is alive and well in this country, and McCain and Palin are trying to appeal to that and it’s unfortunate,” said Representative Ed Towns, also from New York.

Yawn. I'm supposed to care about "codes"? I've heard this one note tune for too long now. I'm no longer fazed by the race card, and you shouldn't be either.

Why don't we talk about the fact that Obama belonged to a black racist church for 20 years? He got married in it, baptized his children in it, and donated tens of thousands of dollars to it. Trinity United Church subscribes to Black Liberation Theology as outlined by James Cone:

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

Either God wants to destroy white people, or He is not worthy of worship. This is racist idolatry. This is the belief system which Barack Obama subscribed to for 20 years. This is the man who is going to bring us together and heal our souls? Fat chance.

There's a racist on the Presidential ticket, and his name is Barack Obama.

The taxpayers?

Did you ever notice that whenever you hear a discussion about "taxpayers" the conversation is really about all voters rather than just those people who actually pay taxes?

Lying liars (aka Democrats) and the lies they tell

"I worry, frankly, that there's a tension here. The more people, in my judgment, exaggerate a
threat of safety and soundness, the more people conjure up the possibility of serious financial losses to the Treasury, which I do not see. I think we see entities that are fundamentally sound financially and can withstand some of the disaster scenarios. . ."
Rep. Barney Frank (D., Mass.)
House Financial Services Committee hearing
Sept. 10, 2003
"Secretary Martinez, if it ain't broke, why do you want to fix it? Have the GSEs [government-sponsored enterprises] ever missed their housing goals?"
Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.)
House Financial Services Committee hearing
Sept. 10, 2003
"I do think I do not want the same kind of focus on safety and soundness that we have in OCC [Office of the Comptroller of the Currency] and OTS [Office of Thrift Supervision]. I want to roll the dice a little bit more in this situation towards subsidized housing. . . ."
Rep. Barney Frank (D., Mass.)
House Financial Services Committee hearing
Sept. 25, 2003
"I am just pissed off at OFHEO [Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight] because if it wasn't for you I don't think that we would be here in the first place. And Freddie Mac, who on its own, you know, came out front and indicated it is wrong, and now the problem that we have and that we are faced with is maybe some individuals who wanted to do away with GSEs in the first place, you have given them an excuse to try to have this forum so that we can talk about it and maybe change the direction and the mission of what the GSEs had, which they have done a tremendous job. . . This is not a matter of the agency engaging in any misconduct. ."
Rep. Gregory Meeks, (D., N.Y.)
House Financial Services Committee hearing
Sept. 25, 2003
"However, I have sat through nearly a dozen hearings
where, frankly, we were trying to fix something that wasn't
broke. Housing is the economic engine of our economy, and in no
community does this engine need to work more than in mine. With
last week's hurricane and the drain on the economy from the war
in Iraq, we should do no harm to these GSEs. We should be
enhancing regulation, not making fundamental change.

Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and in
particular at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Mr.
Frank Raines (one of Obama's advisors a fat-cat Democrat CEO who
took home $120,000,000 from Fannie Mae)
. Everything in the 1992
act has worked just fine. In fact, the GSEs have exceeded their
housing goals. . . .
"
Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.)
House Financial Services Committee hearing
Sept. 25, 2003
And my worry is that we're using the recent safety and soundness concerns, particularly with Freddie, and with a poor regulator, as a straw man to curtail Fannie and Freddie's mission. And I don't think there is any doubt that there are some in the (Bush) administration who don't believe in Fannie and Freddie altogether, say let the private sector do it. That would be sort of an ideological position.
Sen. Charles Schumer (D., N.Y.)
Senate Banking Committee
Oct. 16, 2003
"I, just briefly will say, Mr. Chairman, obviously, like most of us here, this is one of the great success stories of all time. And we don't want to lose sight of that and [what] has been pointed out by all of our witnesses here, obviously, the 70% of Americans who own their own homes today, in no small measure, due because of the work that's been done here. And that shouldn't be lost in this debate and
discussion. . . ."
Sen. Christopher Dodd (D., Conn.)
Senate Banking Committee
Feb. 25, 2004
"I think a lot of people are being opportunistic, . . . throwing out the baby with the bathwater, saying, 'Let's dramatically restructure Fannie and Freddie,' when that is not what's called for as a result of what's happened here. . . ."
Sen. Jack Reed (D., R.I.)
Senate Banking Committee
June 15, 2006

Surrendering to crime in the UK

If you want to know what the future would be like if Liberals could give America an extreme makeover look no further than the UK. They are a few years ahead of the curve on multicultural, politically correct nonsense. Read this and see if you can imagine hearing this idiocy spilling out of the mouth of some limp-wristed Democrat politician:

Bristol City Council is urging people to leave their sheds open because padlocks could lead to thieves forcing their way through doors and windows of the council-owned sheds to steal garden equipment.

The council said that its new initiative could save taxpayers' money because fewer sheds would have to be repaired or replaced.

"Don't padlock your shed; it can save the shed being damaged if someone does try to get into it. If there is a break-in, always inform the police," the Telegraph quoted its guide as reading.

A spokesman said: "Where sheds have been repeatedly broken into, our advice, and it is only advice, is not to padlock them as forced entry often results in the doors being jemmied off. The city council takes security at the site seriously and this year has improved fencing."

He admitted that leaving the sheds unlocked could leave expensive equipment uninsured.

He said: "It would be a matter for discussion between the allotment-holder and their insurance company which would be able to advise them on the conditions of their policy."

Notice that they did not say one word about law enforcement. It boils down to this: Liberals want you to surrender to criminals to save money.

Meat must be rationed, says report on climate change

More climate change nonsense from the UK:
People will have to be rationed to four modest portions of meat and one litre of milk a week if the world is to avoid run-away climate change, a major new report warns.

Tara Garnett, the report's author, warned that campaigns encouraging people to change their habits voluntarily were doomed to fail and urged the government to use caps on greenhouse gas emissions and carbon pricing to ensure changes were made. "Food is important to us in a great many cultural and symbolic ways, and our food choices are affected by cost, time, habit and other influences," the report says. "Study upon study has shown that awareness-raising campaigns alone are unlikely to work, particularly when it comes to more difficult changes."
If the citizens of the UK are okay with with government enforced food rationing to solve a non-existent climate problem, that's their problem. Remember, however, the words of our own Messiah-in-waiting...
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK."
The shape of things to come?

Obama truth squads in Missouri

Just wait until Barack Obama has the Justice Department at his beck and call...
St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce and St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch are threatening to bring libel charges against those who speak out falsely against Barack Obama.

KMOV aired a story last night, that stated that St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, both Obama supporters, are threatening to bring criminal libel charges against anyone who levels what turns out to be false criticisms of their chosen candidate for President.
I think what bothers and scares me most is that these people no longer even try to appear even-handed. Read about the whole story at St. Louis C of CC Blog:

Book Thrown at Smelly Hippies...

... in Berkley of all places! Read the whole story at the San Francisco Chronicle:
Berkeley's infamous tree-sitters have been hit with a rude surprise since they came down to earth: Judges are socking them with thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees.

UC Berkeley estimates it spent more than $800,000 on police and other security measures during the 22 months sitters were up in the trees. The university spent $40,000 alone on the scaffolding that went up around the final tree during the last day of the protest this month.

Now, the school wants its pound of flesh.

"It's really vindictive," said an attorney for some the sitters, Dennis Cunningham. "They don't have this kind of money."

Maybe, but university lawyer Michael Goldstein isn't making any apologies.

"We've asked the judge to throw the book at them," Goldstein said flatly.

So far, most of the 15 to 20 protesters arrested in the past year have been hit with fines of about $100 for trespassing and little or no jail time.

Once they were back on the street, however, the university hauled them back into court on contempt charges for violating an order issued in October by Judge Richard Keller of Alameda County Superior Court that banned people from sitting in the trees or doing anything to help the protesters already up in the branches.

The university is also seeking as much as $10,000 from each of them for its attorney fees.

Lawyers on both sides said the tree-sitters' chances of beating the contempt charges are slim.

As Cunningham noted, "You were either up in the trees or not. What's to argue?"

To which Goldstein added, "Who said free speech is always free?"

Amen to that.

The right of peaceful protest has been for decades a shield for criminal activity by the Left. You can almost get away with murder as long as you are "raising awareness" or "speaking truth to power." Maybe if we actually enforce the law, people will respect it. Maybe if we start holding all of these "brave" social activists accountable for their actions, we might find that they aren't quite so brave after all. Hopefully, we'll start see some indictments for the RNC protesters soon.

Can you smell the Social Justice in the air?
